Kiwi music at the height of its power

Jim BeamHomegrown – 1st Announcement

Kiwi music at the height of its power!

After 5 years of consecutive sell outs; Kiwi music’s biggest day will once again monster the Wellington Waterfront on March 2nd 2013. The first line-up announcement gives a hint of just how massive this beast will be!

Shapeshifter headline the Dub & Roots stage armed with their signature sound and jaw dropping anthems. The Black Seeds, Katchafire, AHoriBuzz and Sunshine Sound System round off the first announcement with three major acts still to be named.

The Rock stage boasts local legends, Shihad alongside the sensational I Am Giant who continue to make waves overseas. The first wave also includes the rising talents of Villainy, Clap Clap Riot and Melbourne based King Cannons. Four acts are still to be announced to top off a stellar collection of Kiwi rock.

The Vodafone Pop and RnB stage includes the number 1 selling Home Brew, the gold and platinum producing Savage and crowd favourites PNC and Pieter T. Zowie and Ruby Frost add their futuristic blend of electro pop to the mix with four more acts yet to be confirmed.

Last year the Red Bull Sound Lab was introduced to Homegrown with a raw, jam and collaboration format. In 2013 there’s more of the same, including the monstrous sound of Cairo Knife Fight and Weird Together’s mix of world music with club culture from Nick D and Dick Johnson. The Babysitters Circus bring their catchy collection of tunes and live antics, DJ-Sir-Vere’s Karaoke Machine features Che Fu, PNC and K One and the Illegal Sound Clash features the cream of Kiwi R&B emcee talent anchored by DJ CXL. There’s plenty more to come with four exciting acts still to be named.
