Press Release
Wednesday October 31, 2012

The Mo-Mentous Month of Movember Starts Tomorrow!

Top lips across the country are twitching in anticipation for the start of Movember, kicking off tomorrow with a nationwide shave-down signalling the beginning of this Mo-mentous month of moustachery.

The phenomenon that is Movember, established in Australia in 2003 and now a global men’s health movement, raises vital funds and awareness for men’s health in New Zealand. For 30 days across 21 countries it harnesses and shapes the incredible support from Mo Bros and Mo Sistas worldwide and in 2012 hopes to involve more one million participants.

On the 1st of Movember any Mo Bro taking part must be clean shaven, so shave teams will be set up inside official Mo-Hubs; Shaky Isles in Auckland and in Wellington, Public on Courtenay Place, for registered Mo Bros in need of a shave down.

New Zealand Movember Manager, Rob Dunne says “This Movember, we’re encouraging all Kiwi guys to both seek and share knowledge and wisdom with loved ones,” says Dunne.

“Don’t be afraid to learn about your family’s health history and predispositions and to understand the risks you possibly face. These simple actions can have a significant impact of the quality and longevity of a man’s journey through his life.”

Recent breaking Mo News includes the announcement of Mo Bro and Mo Sista Ambassadors for 2012 including All Black Brodie Retallick, Aaron Mauger, Jared Hoeata, Maz Quinn, Matt Watson, Wairangi Koopu, Jay Reeve, Willie Lose, Jamie McKay, Murry Sweetpants, Brendan Pongia, John McBeth, Chris Sisarich and Will Hall who will trim and fashion their top lips into bristling magnificence, helping to make 2012 the biggest Movember New Zealand has experienced yet.

Even this stellar line-up of amazing Mo Bro ambassadors admit they can’t do it alone, so this year they have support of Olympic size proportions! Olympic Gold Medallist Eric Murray, who arguably has New Zealand’s most famous blonde facial hair - will be supporting the Mo Bro’s with his top-tips on grooming, and advising Mo Bro’s on how to get the best of their Mo’s.

Rounding out the official support this year is two of New Zealand’s leading ladies who will lend their support as official Mo Sisters. Sports star and Sky TV presenter Melodie Robinson will be cheering on and inspiring Mo Bro’s throughout their Mo growth cycle, as will actress and TV Presenter Jo Holley.

Mo Bros and Sistas can register as individuals or teams at www.movember.com where they create their own Mo Space page, an easy place for others to donate and show their support.
To speak with an ambassador about their involvement, a Mo Bro or Sista about their stunts or find out more who’s on-board please contact PR Consultant, Paul Blomfield, (021) 970 871 or paul@paulblomfield.com
