NZ On Air extends support for Current Affairs with The Vote
NZ On Air is pleased to announce funding for new current affairs programmes, The Vote, for TV3.
The Vote extends NZ On Air's support for current affairs under the Platinum Fund. Q + A and The Nation have each also been supported for another season on TV ONE and TV3 respectively.
Ten new programmes will involve a series of informative and engaging debates on issues of national importance. Each programme will incorporate interaction with viewers and conclude with a citizen's vote. It will be presented by Guyon Espiner and Duncan Garner.
"The Vote promises an innovative and considered approach to current affairs in primetime" says NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson. "We're very pleased to support these programmes to sit alongside Q + A and The Nation with their proven track records for discussing timely issues."
The Platinum Television Fund is a special contestable fund supporting programmes with something important to say about New Zealand. It supports quality content that may be currently difficult to find on our screens.
