Are you planning to make a short film about a story in your community?
Script to Screen and Nga Aho Whakaari present the Christchurch Short Film Workshop. This full day event will give you everything you need to know to bring your short film idea to life – guiding you through each stage, from the initial concept, writing, directing and finally to pitching your idea for funding.
This workshop is suitable for all
levels of experience.
Come and hear from three
experienced industry professionals who have all worked on a
number successful short films including executive producer
Christina Milligan, EP for
Aphrodite’s Farm, which won the Crystal Bear for Best
Short Film at Berlinale 2009, writer/director Michael Bennett, whose short
film Michelle’s Third Novel was selected to screen in
front of Pulp Fiction at its US premiere at the 1994 New
York Film Fesitval, and writer/director Katie Wolfe, whose latest short
film Redemption(2010) screened at the prestigious Berlin and
Sundance Film Festivals.

conception to completion and managing the team

Writer/director Katie Wolfe
(Redemption, This is Her) takes us through the most
important aspects of directing and making your story
visually alive

Writing
Writer/director Michael
Bennett (Matariki, Kerosene Creek, Cow,
Michelle’s Third Novel) talks about the key points of
storytelling and forming a structure that will grab the
audience

Pitching
Participants pitch their short
film ideas to the class and mentors for some practice and
feedback.
5pm – Finish
