NEWS RELEASE
Valerie Adams Makes It Seven In A Row

Visa congratulates Valerie Adams on winning New Zealand Sportswoman of the Year at the 2013 Halberg Awards

New Zealand, 15 February 2013 – Congratulations to Visa Ambassador Valerie Adams on her seventh consecutive win as New Zealand Sportswoman of the Year at the 2013 Halberg Awards.

At age 28 Valerie is double Olympic Champion, current World Champion, 2008 World Indoor Champion, Diamond League Champion and current Commonwealth Champion. She was unbeaten in 2012 and named Track and Field News Female Athlete of the Year.

Caroline Ada, country manager for Visa in New Zealand, says this award is fitting recognition for an athlete who has won almost everything else out there.

“The Visa team is very proud of Val – we know how hard she works and how committed she is to being at the top of her field. Her dominance in the sports world is remarkable and we’re thrilled that she has again been recognised at New Zealand’s premier sporting awards. Visa is very excited to have been a part of Val’s journey for more than six years and we look forward to supporting her into the future.”
