Mcilroy A Late Scratching From
Takapuna
World number ten
ranked triathlete Kate McIlroy is a late withdrawal from the
Contact Tri Series in Takapuna this Sunday.
McIlroy has enjoyed a great start to the season, training and racing well throughout the New Zealand summer, but the risk of overloading at this early stage of the season has seen the Wellington athlete scratch from the sprint race on Sunday with Tri NZ National Coach Greg Fraine making the call to miss the trip to Auckland.
McIlroy will race the first World Triathlon Series event of the ITU season at Auckland on April 6th, in the Barfoot & Thompson World Triathlon race.
