Lantern Festival’s Bright Idea
The Auckland Lantern Festival will add an additional night to its festivities this year.
Lantern Only Night, Thursday 21 February, is a perfect opportunity for Aucklanders and visitors who prefer a relaxing evening out. Thursday provides an opportunity to experience the beauty of hundreds of traditional and contemporary lanterns in the tranquil setting of Albert Park prior to the full festival with stalls, music and entertainment from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 February, 5-10.30pm.
In addition to the festivities at Albert Park there will be events at Queens Wharf, Auckland Library, Auckland Art Gallery, and Lorne St. Chinese red lanterns will also form part of a central city display on Queen Street.
