Festival off Colour - More tickets released

More tickets released

Its Otago Anniversary day here and so we hope you are enjoying a relaxing day whatever you are doing – shame about the rain! There is definitely an autumnal nip in the air, the trees are starting to match the name of the Festival, and its only three weeks until the Crystal Palace arrives.
Flags are up in Wanaka and Queenstown, road signs are in place and the box office has been busy.

We have released some of our media and sponsor holds and so there are a handful of tickets for available for some shows that previously were sold out, such as the 9.30pm performance of Kings of the Gym on Friday 19th . I hear a lot of people in Wanaka saying "There are no tickets left for anything" – well don’t believe all that you hear as there are still a few (not many!) tickets left for most shows – for example Seymour Hersh’s talk on Friday 19th, Fabulous Arabia on Weds 17th, Tubular Bells for Two on Friday 19th, and Electric Wire Hustle Family and Beautiful Losers in Wanaka on Sunday 21st . So get online and book them now before they go!

For information and booking tickets - www.festivalofcolour.co.nz or phone 03 443 4162. Festival box office in the Lake Wanaka Centre open 8.30am to 3 pm Monday to Friday (closed Otago Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday). Queenstown tickets on sale from Queenstown Isite ($2 booking fee and cash sales only) and Cromwell tickets on sale at Cromwell Isite ($2 booking fee).

Festival pick of the week - Strike
This week Ticketing Manager Katy Macpherson makes her pick of the festival. “I love the sound of Strike – Elemental. I have heard amazing things about Strike and always wanted to see and hear them in action. I think this will be a really dynamic show – fire, water, dance and music and anything with beat and drumming in it is always so exhilarating. It sounds like it’s really visual as well as great music – I can’t wait!’. Strike - Elemental plays at Lake Wanaka Centre on Saturday 20 April at 7pm and Queenstown Memorial Centre on Sunday 21 April at 8pm. Tickets $38

Art In The Park - Saturday 13 April
This fabulous local event combines art and music, wine and food and this year’s theme is a Latin fiesta with Argentinian style barbecue, Argentinian wines and samba and Latin guitar. And with artist in residence Neal Palmer this is a great way to get into the festival mood. Saturday April 13 at Minaret Lodge, 34 Eely Point Road from 11am to 5pm. $10 on the door, children free.
