Six60 April Tour: Wellington Shows Sell Out

Six60 April Tour
Wellington Shows Sell Out, Local Support Bands for Wellington and Napier Announced

Six60’s Wellington show this Friday, April 5 at the St James Theatre has now sold out. This is the fifth show in the band’s 10 date nationwide Tour to sell out.

Meanwhile the local support artist search for the Wellington and Napier shows have been announced.

Name UL (aka Emanuel Psathas), a 16-year-old aspiring hip-hop artist will open Friday’s sold out Wellington show at the St James Theatre.

In Napier, Element. X & Mjuzik will open the sold out evening show and Haumoana will open the newly added afternoon show on Saturday April 6 at The Municipal Theatre.

Element.X aka Callum, is a hip hop artist/songwriter from Hastings and Jayde (Mjuzik) is a music producer from Wellington; Haumoana Sound System a.k.a. Hmn Samples is a 5-piece group from Haumoana Hawke's Bay.

All three artists/bands were chosen by Six60 to open the shows after the band teamed up with theaudience.co.nz to run a local support band search for each of the 10 shows on the Tour.

Tickets to the Napier eveningshow have sold out, however there are still tickets available to the all-ages afternoon show, with doors opening at 4.30pm. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased from www.ticketek.co.nz.

Theaudience.co.nz received a total of 211 entries from emerging artists, bands and hopefuls across New Zealand; 21 from Wellington and 10 from the Hawke’s Bay region.

Six60’s Matiu Walters says he and the band were really impressed with the standard of entries:

“The band took the job of choosing the local supports really seriously, we were all impressed with the calibre of the artists and bands we’ve listened to. There is some great emerging talent in New Zealand!”

Six60 will announce the localsupport acts for the remaining seven shows via Six60 and theaudience.co.nz’s Facebook/twitter pages on the Monday prior to show date.
