April Holidays: Children Love Baking And Making At LynnMall

Media Release
April 2013

Children Love Baking And Making At Lynnmall These April Holidays

Kids are invited to come down to LynnMall these school holidays to indulge in a little sweetness while supporting the Foundation for Youth Development.

For the fourth year LynnMall is putting on Kids workshops during the April school holidays (April 10-20). Back by popular demand is the home baking theme.. With the LynnMall Bake & Make workshops, LynnMall introduces the feel-good pleasure of baking with a generous dose of playfulness and fun.

Linh Luong, Marketing Manager for LynnMall, is proud to be able to support FYD again this year through the LynnMall Bake & Make Campaign. “The children’s workshops are always a highlight for the centre and with homebaking still being so topical at the moment, the Bake & Make theme will be popular again with children. We had fantastic feedback from our customers on the baking workshops last year, so we decided to run them again for these school holidays. The children loved baking the simple but rewarding recipes and also ofcourse the goodie bag to take home afterwards.

The workshops are aimed at primary and intermediate aged children and will allow them to bake several basic, heart-warming recipes, while also raising the awareness that treats should be treats, not a daily occurrence.
Students from the Foundation for Youth Development’s Stars Programme, will be helping the children learn new things in the kitchen as they try some favourite baking recipes together, such as brownies, scones, cupcakes and cookies.

FYD is a national organisation governing several youth development programmes that have been proven to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. FYD is currently working with over 18,000 young Kiwis aged 5 to 18 through its Kiwi Can, Stars and Project K programmes.
