Tap into expert knowledge of entertainment
industry
Four of New Zealand’s best-loved entertainers have joined forces to today launch a service that offers expert advice to anyone wanting to crack the world of showbiz.
Singer, dancer, actress TINA CROSS, Dancing with the Stars dancer and choreographer NERIDA CORTESE, television, film, theatre actor SHANE CORTESE and New Zealand’s Got Talent musical director MARK DENNISON have formed THE MENTORS – an online network that allows budding entertainers to tap into a wealth of knowledge.
For a fraction of the cost of what other showbiz advisers may charge, members can ask questions, send videos, mp3s and photos to Shane, Tina, Nerida and Mark through the website www.thementors.co.nz.
Members will also get to spend one on one time with Shane, Nerida, Mark and Tina in a series of workshops held around the country annually.
From beginners to experienced professionals, there’s always more that you can learn!
Shane Cortese is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable performers with a multitude of television, film, theatre and music credits to his name. Currently playing Mac on Nothing Trivial and the God, Loki, on The Almighty Johnsons, Shane was recently voted TV Guide’s best New Zealand male actor. See Shane’s welcome video on the website!
Tina Cross has been part of pop culture history since she took ‘Nothing But Dreams' to the winner's podium at the Pacific Song Contest in 1979. Tina has worked alongside luminaries such as: Sammy Davis Jnr, Tom Jones, Meatloaf and even The Village People and has won a host of awards including NZ’s Top Female Vocalist and the prestigious Tui for Best Theatrical Performer.
Nerida Cortese danced her way into the hearts of New Zealanders with TVNZ's Dancing With The Stars where she met future husband, Shane. Nerida continues to choreograph and teach at the highest levels in New Zealand dance.
Mark Dennison is the Musical Director of New Zealand’s Got Talent and has produced two albums for Sony Records this year. Amongst others he’s worked with: John Farnham (two world tours), Manhattan Transfer, Jimmy Barnes, Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, Bonnie Tyler, Lou Rawls, Joan Rivers, Leo Sayer and Sting.
