Winter Carnival to Return with a Bang
Lower Hutt’s premier annual event, the Petone Winter Carnival, has been confirmed to return to the Petone Foreshore for its seventh year in 2013.
The Carnival, known for providing a full day of affordable family entertainment, is scheduled for Saturday 3 August, and kicks off with the annual mid-winter swim in the Wellington Harbour at 12pm.
50,000+ people are expected to attend throughout the day to enjoy art, comedy, rides, food, bands, games, sculptures, workshops, circus, and of course, the ever popular Pelorus Trust Fireshow.
Registrations of interest for food vendors, market stalls, bands, buskers, performers, and entertainment providers are currently open. Organisers, Hutt City Council, are encouraging those interested in being involved to register early to avoid missing out.
