Kiwi Chart Topper At Worlds Largest Music Festival

Kiwi Chart Topper invited to perform at the worlds largest music festival

The new Kiwi international childrens singing sensation Mr Yipadee is set to appear at Glastonbury!

The creator and man behind Mr Yipadee - Dean O'Brien from Otago - hit the headlines earlier this year when his positive thinking children's music character went to Number One in the UK iTunes Children's Album Charts ahead of 'Cbeebies' and 'Now That's What I Call Disney'.    Mr Yipadee will be one of the headliners in the 'Kidz Field' at the world famous festival and he'll be joining The Rolling Stones as part of this years massive line up.

Glastonbury has been going since 1970.   This years will be the first at Worthy Farm since 2011, when the organisers decided to take a year off.   This years will be taking place from June 26th to June 30th.  Tickets sell out fast and demand far outstrips the supply. Twitter users described getting a ticket this year was harder than competing in the London Marathon!  Mr Yipadee will be performing on the Saturday and the Sunday.

O'Brien, a 34 year old dad of one, says "It's incredible the difference a year can make. Just over 12 months ago I lost my job and the industry I was in was looking bleak prospects wise. The timing was especially scary as my daughter was just 6 months old. The decision to create Mr Yipadee, and everything I wanted him to be, could have been a massive risk but it's turned out to be the best move I ever made. The feedback I get from parents and children across the world is just so rewarding.  Going to number one in the iTunes chart and performing for children across the UK has exceeded my dreams. And now to get the chance to perform at the same festival and on the same day as The Rolling Stones - is so exciting!"

Mr Yipadee was born when O'Brien spotted a gap in the market for feel good childrens music. "My business partner, Mark Wainwright, and I have worked together creating pop music for the last few years. He recently finished working on remixes for INXS and Universal Music. With the birth of my daughter and Mark's twin girls, we realised there was very little positive, fun, and engaging music for kids.  Leading psychology, self-belief, and peak performance principles are often only translated for adults.  Research proves the most effective age to learn and develop is in the first 5 years, so there seemed a huge gap in the market.  After reading the Number One Best Selling book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, we made it our mission to translate the philosophies of confidence, self-belief, and well-being through fun and entertaining songs for this age group."

And Glastonbury is just the start of Mr Yipadee's travelling adventures for 2013.  O'Brien will be coming home to New Zealand for the first with Mr Yipadee and touring the country with fellow Kiwi and Best Selling Children's musician and author, Craig Smith aka Mr Wonky Donkey.   "This will be the first time I've perfumed at home so I'm really excited. We will be stopping in most towns and cities during September and October.  It's going to be so much fun and a show I'm sure that will be a hits with all the kids.  Thanks to sponsors we'll be able to keep tickets at a recession-proof $10"
