The Global Citizen Concert
Launches in New Zealand
Thursday, 5th June 2013
From New York’s Central Park to Auckland’s Town Hall, musicians are uniting to inspire others to make a stand against extreme poverty. The Global Poverty Project recently produced a highly successful concert in New York, and will now launch the Global Citizen Concert in New Zealand on Sunday, 4th August 2013, at the Auckland Town Hall.
The concert will be a unique evening of powerful performances to awaken active citizenship around the issues of extreme poverty and climate change. With bespoke musical collaborations and new song releases inspired by this social movement, the audience are in for an unforgettable experience.
The event is
supported by a stellar New Zealand line-up that includes
Tiki Taane, Daniel Bedingfield, Anika Moa, Jamie McDell,
Seth Haapu, AhoriBuzz, and Maitreya. With more artists to be
announced in the coming weeks, this is a not-to-be-missed
event.
GlobalCitizen.org is a learning and action tool
designed to help people become more effective agents for
change by offering a global perspective and helping them
keep track of the issues and opportunities they care about.
It was initiated by the Global Poverty Project, an
organisation dedicated to ending the extreme poverty that
affects more than 1.2 billion people.
