HALF SHADOWS reflects the multiple faces of TOKiMONSTA. The Los Angeles-based artist and producer, otherwise known as Jennifer Lee, traverses a few different spheres on her new full-length album. Sonically, she alchemically mingles ethereal electronic moods, while adding R&B flavor and the right amount of hip-hop bounce.

Los Angeles native, TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee) is known for her unique take on indie electronic/r&b/dance music. Her classical upbringing and eclectic music taste has allows her to create vast textural soundscapes—a reverberation that fuses vintage sensibilities with progressive inclinations. There's nothing quite like TOKiMONSTA's sound either. In a day and age, when electronic music is synonymous with the dance floor, she approaches it from a different angle.

2012 saw her commence work on what would eventually become her debut for Ultra Music. As the first female to join Flying Lotus' crew and label, BRAINFEEDER, she garnered a fervent following within the Los Angeles scene and beyond. Worldwide tastemakers from BBC Radio1, NPR and KCRW to DJ Mag, Pitchfork, The Guardian, MTV, Rolling Stone and SPIN featured her. Additionally, she was dubbed the "#1 Female DJ in Los Angeles" by LA Weekly.

TOKiMONSTA tours the world regularly as a live performer. Her performance is engaging as well as intricate using new technology with pieces of musical and multimedia gear. She participated in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in London in 2010. In the summer of 2012 she was a part of the Full Flex Express tour, the first electronic music themed train tour that traveled across Canada with Skrillex, Diplo, Pretty Lights, and Grimes.

She performed on the very first SS Coachella, which is Golden Voices’ first ocean cruise festival. Some notable past performances were at Coachella, Sonar Barcelona, DEMF, WMC, Electric Zoo, SxSW, Camp Bisco, Decibel Festival, with more scheduled in the future.
