Braveheart – The Concert
PRESS RELEASE - Celtic Pipe Band of Stoke
Braveheart – The Concert First there was
Braveheart the movie. Now there’s Braveheart – The
Concert!
Take a dram of Scottish history; add the skirl of bagpipes, a flourish of swinging kilts plus the beat of the drum. Throw in a splash of contemporary rock music, mix with clever choreography and talented dancers and you have the perfect recipe for a first class evening of Celtic entertainment.
The Celtic Pipe Band of Stoke brings a blend of the best of Scotland to the Theatre Royal stage in early August with Braveheart – The Concert.
Band spokesperson Helen Gilchrist says the August 3rd concert is based on the story of William Wallace’s historic fight for the freedom, which ironically reflects the story of the Celtic Pipe Band as it’s grown from small beginnings into a fully-fledged, successful competitive unit.
She says the one night only show will include a selection of traditional pipe band music, contemporary Scottish music and singing, alongside performances from some of this region’s best young highland dancing talent, as well as a few features guaranteed to surprise and impress.
Braveheart – The Concert is the Celtic Pipe Band of Stoke’s major fundraiser for the year as it looks to purchase new equipment and travel.
Helen says the band has set its sights high with a group of members focussing on their first ever overseas trip, playing in six cities in Germany in January following an invitation to be part of the annual Musikparade.
Braveheart – The Concert. Theatre Royal, Saturday August 3rd. Ticket are available from Ticket Direct, The Theatre Royal and Richmond Mall information desk.
