Figure It Out

Click for big version.
For the second year in a row, students from The Learning Connexion’s life drawing class present ‘Figurative Expressions’, a group exhibition held at Thistle Hall Gallery from 23rd –28th July. This year we are 14 artists studying with tutor Dan Wilkinson.
This vibrant and exciting exhibition invites the viewer to “figure it out” and gives a unique insight into the creative process at all stages. Featuring work from students who have never exhibited before, alongside more experienced students such as Cory Mathis, recent winner of the Listener's NZ Young Cartoonist Award, and work from TLC tutor and local Wellington artist Dan Wilkinson.
Working from life models, nude and costumed, students depict their creative journey with the figure. They all bring a unique element to their work, incorporating a range of mediums from drawing and painting to sculpture and printmaking. Loose and expressive alongside developed and refined, the show brings together a great array of styles and interpretations.
Join us for our opening night on Tuesday 23rd July 6-9pm where you can meet the artists themselves. The gallery will also be open Tuesday - Friday 10am - 6pm and 10am - 4pm on the weekend. Thistle Hall Gallery is located at 293 Cuba St, Te Aro, Wellington.
