Comedy Festival favourite headlines The Medicine on September 4.
Celebrated Canadian comedian Jason John Whitehead guest stars at The Cavern Club’s weekly comedy show, The Medicine on September 4.
One of the highlights of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival over the years, JJ is a comedian in complete control of the stage and audience, developing his craft for over 12 years now. His 2012 show ‘Letters to Mindy’ received rave reviews both here and abroad.
A regular performer on the British and International circuit, JJ has headlined prestigious clubs such as The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Highlight, The Glee Clubs, and Yuk Yuks. To date, he has recorded two critically acclaimed full length comedy albums.
Beneath JJ's laid back, friendly demeanour is a razor sharp comedy mind and his storytelling is captivating.
The show is approximately an hour and a half long and also features up and coming Wellington comedian and two time Raw Comedy Quest finalist Ricky Threlfo and Billy T and Fred award nominee, James Nokise.
"JJ's deadpan, drop-out wit is packed with laughs” The Scotsman.
“an irresistibly loveable combination of freaked out pot head and a south park character, with a bit of Ozzy thrown in for good measure” Leicester Mercury.
“The cool Nova Scotian is the epitome of easy, effortless observational humour.” The London Evening Standard.
