Gold Medal Famous Party with Theremins and Eclectotronica
Gold Medal Famous Party with Theremins and Eclectotronica in Wellington
Gold Medal Famous are back with another dose of eclectotronic wildness this Saturday September 14. And as always, expect a serving of the unexpected, with a side of serious fun.
It’s a free party gig this Saturday September 14 at Understudy, with live action from bands Gold Medal Famous and Slutopia, plus DJ sets from Michael Nein and Dan Untitled.
Budding theremin players take note – there will be a theremin-playing competition during Gold Medal Famous’ set!
Gaining a reputation as our wildest avant-garde pop group, Gold Medal Famous are set to release their new homage to dance music, the “Free Body Culture" EP later this year and a new album - "Album of national significance" – due for release early next year. And they’ve coined a whole new genre name for their sound with this EP – ‘eclectotronica’.
Slutopia are making a name for themselves as a band worth watching, and describe themselves as post-apocalyptic psychedelic synth-pop fembots, performing avant garde future-fables.There are rumours they may have choreographed dancers for a couple of numbers too.
Slutopia, Gold Medal Famous, Michael Nein and Dan Untitled. Free entry. September 14. At Understudy, 80 Cuba Street (corner Cuba and Dixon Streets), Wellington.
It's a rite of spring.
