Te Reo Channel to Pay Tribute to Maori Community Leader
Te Reo Television will this week pay tribute to Dennis Hansen (Ngapuhi), 80, a leader in Auckland’s Maori community, who died last week.
The former Kiwi League representative and Maori All Black was awarded the Queen's Service Medal in 2010 for services to Maori and the community.
He held a number of positions at the then-Department of Maori Affairs (now Te Puni Kokiri) and was involved in penal reform policy, victim support, and restorative justice and rehabilitation projects.
The Te Reo Channel will screen two episodes of the chat show, TE KAUTA, featuring Mr Hansen on Friday September 13 from 8.00pm – 9.00pm.
The tribute episodes will be followed by TAUTOHETOHE ON THE ROAD, with a debate between Hoani Waititi and Te Tahawai.
