McVean Shows the Way at Pukahu

McVean Shows the Way at Pukahu

Katie McVean has started the new season in a way she hopes to continue, with a clutch of ribbons from her first outing at the one star Pukahu Show in Hawke’s Bay.

McVean (Mystery Creek) and Dunstan Delilah, the last of 11 combinations to go in the top class of the show, were the only combination to go clear, meaning no jump-off and giving Anna Stephen (Martinborough) and Constantine second place as the fastest four-faulter.

It was a little more exciting in the Telford Young Rider class where four went through to the jump-off from the 14 starters. James Cole (Auckland) and Chequebook took top honours, ahead of Shaun Fannin (Hastings) aboard Air Hill the Rajah.
