Johnnie Cameron Prevails in Tight Race
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday 2nd October
Johnnie Cameron Prevails in Tight Race for theaudience.co.nz September Wildcard Funding Chart
The September Wildcard Funding Chart proved to be one of the tightest races thus far, with the strength of the hip-hop community taking on a singer songwriter on theaudience.co.nz.
The number one spot for the September Wildcard Funding Chart was finally taken out by Nelson-based Johnnie Cameron, for his track “Be My Lover”. Cameron finished in the number one position after a tight race between himself and hip-hop artist Percieve. Speaking about his placing, Johnnie Cameron said it was “an amazing, yet exhausting month”.
“I think what makes this competition so thrilling is the all or nothing aspect,” Cameron said. “Winning is an amazing buzz, especially when you think you’ve been pipped right at the end!” You can check out Johnnie Cameron’s winning track, “Be My Lover”, here.
With the year winding down, so too are the chances left to take out theaudience.co.nz Wildcard Funding Chart. October presents one of the final two chances for year for both Making Tracks funding and theaudience.co.nz Wildcard Chart. The time to act is now before the madness of Silver Scrolls, Music Awards and festival season kicks in!
