4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Evening
4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Evening
The 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Evening will be held this coming Sunday, 10th November at a Ponsonby Road favourite, Revelry, 106 Ponsonby Road, Auckland.
This year’s event is sponsored and hosted by Clinique, Revelry, Kim Crawford Wines and Total Care Hair & Beauty.
The
Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Evening was created
by Kristelle Thomsen, from Clinique who lost her Grandmother
Joy to Breast Cancer seven years ago and saw her
mother-in-law beat Breast Cancer twice. “Breast Cancer has
severely impacted my family and I knew I wanted to do
something major to help raise awareness and funds for The
New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation locally. I’m really
lucky to work for Clinique, a company that already immensely
supports the Breast Cancer Foundation Globally,” says
Kristelle.
Kristelle truly relies on the good will of people to really get this amazing evening off the ground. “The event is a collaboration of many people’s talents”, husband Ben Thomsen has been MC and live singer, you name it. Her best friend Ben Taylor, owner of Revelry is also a huge support not only offering his chic space, but also attends the event every year and doubles as the live auctioneer. Clinique’s Thomas Kirkwood is creative director of this year’s fashion show and coordinates the high end auction items. Kristelle is happy to say the event just keeps going from strength-to-strength every year with the huge support of sponsors, family, friends and the very generous public.
The event has been a sell-out for the past three years running and this year’s event promises not to disappoint and will be a spectacular evening! So don’t delay in getting a ticket now and you can be part of the 100 guests and enjoy a glass of wine from Kim Crawford, canapés by Chef Paul Rumary and Petal Cupcakes. The stylish entertainment includes a fashion show, sponsored by Clinique, Katz-K and Monarch models. Silent and live auctions, musical performances and celebrity guests.
Kristelle does admit to running the event on a shoe string budget and so they can donate almost all of the money generated in ticket sales to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. At the end of the day, it’s about having an enjoyable evening while doing something to help those affected by Breast Cancer. So being able to donate almost all of the money from the ticket sales to the NZBCF is the biggest secret to the events success suggests Kristelle.
“We couldn’t believe what we had pulled off the first year and now as the momentum builds and we’ve roped in even more friends, family and colleagues in to help. We are all committed now more than ever to making this event one of the biggest fundraisers in New Zealand!”
Tickets are $65 ($50 donated to the NZBCF). The ticket includes a glass of Kim Crawford wine, canapés and sweets, goodie bag, live entertainment, raffles, silent auction, spot prizes and more.
