You’ll also explore lesser known sites such as Monte Alban, Bonampak and Yaxchila, the pyramids at Teotihuacan which the Aztecs revered as ‘the Place of the Gods’, walk through the markets of delightful colonial city Oaxaca, visit Mexico City Anthropological Museum and San Cristobal de las Casas - a beautiful highland colonial market town surrounded by modern-day Maya villages.

Other highlights include the historic city of Antigua, a boat trip through the impressive Sumidero Canyon which is up to 1km deep in some places, and opportunities to swim in spectacular jungle waterfalls.
