Belvedere brings Bono’s RED™ event to New Zealand for World Aids Day
Belvedere and RED™, founded by U2’s Bono, have teamed up to launch ‘Red Night Out’ for the first time in New Zealand. In support of the global celebration of World Aids Day on 1 December, Ginny Blackmore has been picked as the New Zealand artist to perform at this one-off, free for public event on 30 November in 1885, Britomart.
RED™ was founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver to engage businesses and consumers in the global fight against AIDS. Big names like Usher, Mary J Blige and now New Zealand’s own platinum selling hit star, Ginny Blackmore will be part of Belvedere's bold commitment to create an AIDS-free generation in 2015.
Dedicated to make a significant contribution to the Global Fund, created to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, the event also marks the launch of Belvedere RED Special Edition. 50% of profits from Belvedere RED Special Edition bottles sold in New Zealand will contribute to helping this global epidemic.
Rai Banbury, senior brand manager for Belvedere Vodka, says, “Our passion for philanthropy led to the creation of Belvedere RED in 2011 and our commitment to helping RED™ and the Global Fund has continued since.”
The first 200 guests will be treated to a velvety Belvedere RED cocktail to get the party started, followed by DJ Vincent Hanna, to kick-start the music for the evening. Only condition for entry is to wear red.
The eye-catching semi-transparent metallic bottle has been designed specifically for the Global Fund proceeds and delivers a clear, succinct message: Buy Belvedere RED, Give Belvedere RED, and save lives. Belvedere RED Special edition will retail for $59.99 and will be available in all good wine and liquor stores.
Ginny Blackmore’s debut song ‘Bones’ has nearly hit double platinum, reached No.1 single and No.1 NZ Airplay. Ginny Blackmore’s current single SFM (Sing For Me), originally written for Christina Aguilera, can be purchased from iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/nz/album/sfm/id621674169?i=621674716
