The Academy Bares All for Christmas
This Saturday the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts will be opening the 2013 Annual Exhibition. The exhibition showcases over 170 works from the supportive membership. The open-themed exhibition features a range of works including a variety of subject matters and mediums. Unrestricted by a theme or any other constraints the exhibition reflects a range of artists from varied experiences and educational backgrounds.
“As a curator you rarely hang an uncensored exhibition, there is always a process of choosing what goes on walls. This inaugural exhibition aims to survey the membership giving us a visual record of the shifts and changes of this diverse range of artists.” says Academy Galleries Curator Natalie Jones.
The exhibition is open until 8 January 2013 at the Academy Galleries, 1 Queens Wharf, Wellington. 10 am – 5 pm Monday to Sunday. [except 24 December – 3 January 2014]
