PNC Releases New Single “Ride” Featuring P Digsss

The highly anticipated collaboration between PNC and Shapeshifter frontman P Digsss titled "Ride" has this week been released. The song was co-produced by newcomer Matt Miller and State Of Mind member Patrick Hawkins.

After releasing a slew of successful singles this year including "Kobe & LeBron" featuring David Dallas and "Love Jones" featuring Pieter T, "Ride" is the latest single to be released from PNC's upcoming album The Codes. The song blends a unique mix of classic Hip-Hop and an assaulting Electronic influence that perfectly fits the rappers commanding flow and P Digsss's booming vocal.

Released through PNC's own independent label Flair Ultra Music, "Ride" has already been touted by many as "The song of the summer" with George FM DJ Dan Aux labeling it "Hands down, Kiwi tune of the year!”. After one day of the release the song had already reached as high as #4 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart.

Fresh off scoring coveted support slots in 2013 for international acts Big Sean, Outkast's Big Boi and Flume, PNC is poised to be a force in New Zealand music for the summer and far beyond.

PNC (AKA Sam Hansen) is one of today’s most talked abouts artist in New Zealand Hip-Hop. Hailing from Palmerston North, PNC first gained underground notoriety with his unofficial single "Day In The Life" that topped the bFM charts. He followed that with appearances on various tracks from P-Money’s Magic City album. His refreshing style caught the attention of NZ Music’s elite and earned him a contract with Dirty Records.

He released his debut album Rookie Card in 2006, which was received with overwhelmingly positive reviews. His singles "Just Roll" and "PN Whoa" were top 20 chart hits, and Who Betta Than This was an underground smash. In 2007 he won Best Hip-Hop Album at the prestigious Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

In 2009 he released his sophomore effort Bazooka Kid, which continued the trend of critical acclaim. It received 4 stars from the notoriously critical NZ Herald and from the Dominion Post, and a 5 star review in Real Groove magazine. His single "Tonight" was a radio hit and reached Top 40 chart status. In the same year his collaboration with State Of Mind “City On Fire” become a local and international club anthem. A true songwriter, he has writing credits on various Top 10 singles including two Number 1’s (P-Money’s "Stop The Music" and "Everything").

2010 saw the release of his third album, Man On Wire, leading to another nomination for Best Hip-Hop Album. In 2012 he collaborated with up and coming producer Matt Miller for Under The Influence. Released as a free download, the album received rave reviews and tallied 20,000+ downloads.

At the age of 29 he has already worked with seminal NZ artists such as David Dallas, Flight Of The Conchords and Che Fu to name a few. Notable performances at festivals like Big Day Out and Rhythm & Vines have earned him a loyal following on the live circuit. He has also opened for international heavyweights like Snoop Dogg, Outkast's Big Boi and Dizzee Rascal.

In 2013 he officially parted ways with Dirty Records, to start his own independent label Flair Ultra Music. He is currently busy working on his fifth studio album The Codes, due for release in early 2014.
