Silver Ferns Sell-out England Match in Palmerston North
Silver Ferns Sell-out England Match in Palmerston North
10 October 2014
The Silver Ferns v England match at the end of October has been well supported by Manawatu Netball fans with Arena Manawatu selling out this week.
The match is part of the New World Netball Series for the Taini Jamison Trophy and will be the final time the Silver Ferns play England before the Netball World Cup in Sydney in August next year.
The England team features a myriad of familiar names due to the ANZ Championships’ inclusion of import players; captain Jade Clarke, Eboni Beckford Chambers, Geva Mentor, Jo Harten, Ama Agbeze and new Mystics signing Serena Guthrie all have ANZ Championship contracts with one of the ten teams in New Zealand and Australia.
The Palmerston North test match is part of the Month of Celebrations for Netball Manawatu as they celebrate their 85th anniversary this year. It’s the second of two test matches against England, with tickets still available for the match in Rotorua on Tuesday, October 28.
For those who missed out on tickets to the Palmerston North test match, every minute will be live on SKY sport with a live radio broadcast on Radio Sport.
National Selectors will name a new Silver Ferns team from the wider Silver Ferns Squad of 19 to contest England for the Taini Jamison Trophy, later this month.
