Christmas in the Hutt details announced
With the festive season fast approaching, Hutt City Council is delighted to announce the date for the highly anticipated 2014 Les Mills Christmas in the Hutt.
This year’s event is set to take place on Saturday 6 December at the Hutt Recreation Ground in Lower Hutt, and will be the largest in the district.
Estimated to attract over 20,000 people from around the region, Christmas in the Hutt will feature over 300 local performers, showcasing the best talent the Wellington region has to offer.
With the renowned Roger Fox Wellington Jazz Orchestra confirmed as the headline act, the event has been described as a unique draw-card for the region and an evening of family entertainment too good to be missed.
Santa will make his customary singing and dancing appearance, and a spectacular fireworks display will light up the Hutt night sky in a finale certain to thrill.
Hutt City Council City Events Coordinator Rebecca Travers describes this year’s event as a distinctive evening of local entertainment for the whole family.
“You'll be spoilt for choice with a variety of unique and awe-inspiring performances. From the headlining act, to schools and community groups from around the region, there is something for the whole family.”
There will also be a medley of free children’s rides and entertainment available on site, including a majestic merry-go-round, bouncy castles, a gigantic inflatable slide and face-painting.
The evening of entertainment is set to commence at 6pm, with a spectacular fireworks finale at 9.30pm.
