The event marks the first time business organisation BNI New Zealand (Business Network International) has formed a strategic relationship with Hospice New Zealand to raise money for Nurse Maude Hospice and receive other tangible benefits as a result of this collaboration. These benefits include exposure to a wider range of businesses in Christchurch for Nurse Maude and for BNI the opportunity to refine a model of strategic partnership that can be replicated in other areas of the country.

Graham Southwell, National Director for BNI New Zealand, says the collaborative event will come to be seen as a great example of a strategic relationship between a business and a community organisation. “We now have all of the Hospice New Zealand's National Partners on board for this event, Craigs Investment Partners, House of Travel and ourselves – as well as Supports like Dilmah Tea, Quest and Farmers - so the event is going to be unique in that it is an example of co-operation between a number of businesses all coming together to put on an event for Christchurch Hospice," Southwell notes.

These supporters and a number of other businesses have provided an exceptional array of goods and services to be auctioned on the night. These include a $300 gift voucher from Farmers, a year's supply of Dilmah tea, and two nights at a Quest apartment. There’s also unique artworks. Nick Greenwood, one of the BNI Director Consultant’s for Christchurch, has provided a painting donated by his father in law; noted North Canterbury artist Ivan Button, whose family has been personally supported by hospice, so the event is particularly important to them.

Tickets for the event are available at www.nursemaudeblacktie.co.nz.
