Auckland, New Zealand; Tuesday 2nd December: MTV New Zealand today announced the upcoming launch of MTV Brand New, an initiative which allows viewers a chance to vote for their favorite emerging Australian and New Zealand signed artists.

Following on from the continued success of MTV Brand New in the UK, which put popular artists such as Sam Smith, Florence & the Machine, Adele and Jessie J onto the international scene, MTV will be bringing MTV Brand New down under, giving emerging signed artists an opportunity to make a mark on the map.

MTV is partnering with music labels across Australia and New Zealand to find the best ten upcoming signed artists, selected by an expert panel of judges, to take part in the competition. Launching in April, 2015, the competition will run over ten weeks, concluding with a grand finale event. Fans will be given the chance to vote for their favourite artist and the winner will be announced on-air on MTV and MTV Hits in New Zealand.
