This years Awards have seen a lot of new initiatives
introduced into the process for the first time. Clubs who
made it through to the second round of the awards entry
process were asked to send a NPS (Net Promoter Score) Survey
to their clubs. An all new Live Assessment was undertaken
at the finalist stage of five exercise professional
categories including 16 international judges judging four
specialist topics over three hours.
The 2014 Awards had 19 categories, looking at both individuals and facilities that operate in the fitness/exercise industry.
Most awards are based on an application process that is reviewed by a judging panel. The exception being three special awards which are awarded for special contribution to either the industry, education in the industry or professionalism and standards. These are selected by the boards of The Exercise Association of New Zealand, The NZ Register of Exercise Professionals and Skills Active. The winners were announced at the New Zealand Fitness Industry Awards Ceremony on the 22nd November.
The award ceremony itself has proven to be an extremely prestigious. Past guest speakers have included the Hon John Key, Hon Rodney Hide, Hon Murray McCully and Sue Kedgeley. The award ceremony’s MC is fitness and media personality Suzie Clarkson.
