Auckland’s skyline set to dazzle with light display on New Year’s Eve
Auckland will countdown to the New Year with an amazing light display on the stem of the Sky Tower, ending in a fireworks extravaganza.
A giant LED clock will count down the minutes to midnight on New Year’s Eve, with the famous eight minute firework display setting the skyline alight as we start 2015.
The Sky Tower is the southern hemisphere’s tallest man-made structure, and has become a recognisable part of Auckland’s cityscape.
SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower to show support for a number of organisations and special events. SKYCITY often lights the Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, or to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations.
