ASB Supports Rainbowyouth During Pride

RainbowYOUTH is excited to announce the continued support from ASB during the 2015 Auckland Pride Festival.

Since adding RY to its True Rewards programme in October 2014, ASB has been right behind RainbowYOUTH, helping the organisation throw its 25th Birthday Celebration in November of last year and coming on board to sponsor RainbowYOUTH’s events over the Auckland Pride Festival 2015.

Central Auckland branches of ASB will be sporting donation boxes full of RainbowYOUTH’s ‘Wear Your Pride’ rainbow ribbons all throughout the Auckland Pride Festival (7th February - 1st of March). Along with this, ASB has sponsored such events as RainbowYOUTH’s Masquerade Ball for under 27’s as well as providing staff and volunteers with a set of crew t-shirts for their activities over the festival.

ASB’s support of RainbowYOUTH marks yet another step towards becoming a leading company in the promotion of diversity and inclusion. In 2014, ASB began a staff Unity group and was awarded the Rainbow Tick - a certification that recognises an inclusive and safe working environment for LGBTIQ staff.

RainbowYOUTH General Manager Duncan Matthews says he’s, “so proud to have ASB’s continued support. To have ASB pick up our Rainbow Ribbon campaign from its small beginnings in Pride 2014 is very exciting. A dedicated team of our young volunteers made thousands of ribbons in the last few months, and the whole team has been buzzing with excitement about having them in ASB branches.”

Matthews hopes that the visibility of the ribbons on ASB counters will attract support from the general public ,especially those members of the community who may not usually interact with RainbowYOUTH.

“It’s a big, exciting step for RY, and a huge thanks is a given to Carl Ferguson and the team at ASB for their generosity and hard work.”

Look out for RainbowYOUTH’s ‘Wear Your Pride’ rainbow ribbons in Central Auckland ASB branches between 7th February and 1st March.
