On February 12, 2015 the
French Contemporary Artist, Klaus Guingand will launch 'Art
Warning the World', the global artwork that unites the whole
world in defence of freedom.
This work addresses
each human, each nation together, with 202 Artists from 200
countries, presenting a total of 202 works, videos and
photos in 135 National languages.
This is the first time
in history that an artwork will unite the entire
world.
Klaus Guingand is an Artist of no fixed address, who for over twenty years has been recognised for his shadow paintings, featuring a wealth of International celebrities. Creator of 'Art Warning the World' he represents France. (See presentation on page 2)
'Art Warning the World' is an artwork created by Artist Klaus Guingand, together with the participation of 201 Artists, living in 200 different countries. To create this artwork Klaus Guingand started to search (in July 2012 for 20 months) for a single visual Artist from every country in the world. Each Artist has painted on their National flag this Klaus Guingand warning (translated into each national language). ''When the word freedom disappears from our dictionaries, it will be too late to react". Each Artist created their flag, along with a video and a photograph of themselves with their work.

65,000 Facebook page followers will also be able to discover this work and there are exciting plans for exhibitions to be held in France and abroad.
Klaus Guingand "Freedom is the fundamental value of humanity". Convinced that the word freedom (and all that it represents and involves) would disappear from our dictionaries, he decided to create a work of Art to warn mankind.
This is the story of an Artist driven by the desire to defend freedom, searching all over the world for Artists interested in participating in this universal artwork. Their nationality, language, cultural differences or religious views have prevented the creation of this work. Painters, Street Artists, Sculptors, Photographers, Designers and Tattoo Artists, these men and women (aged 19-65 years) are made up of Jews, Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Buddhists, Protestants, Pagans, Agnostics, followers of other religions or atheists but all are united through this unique project aimed at the defence of freedom.
This work has been
produced (over a period of 30 months) voluntarily and
without funding, patrons or sponsorship because Freedom
cannot be sold or
recovered.
Presentation
Klaus Guingand is a born artist. Unconventional and multidisciplinary French artist, born in 1962, its creative power is phenomenal,is a nomad with no fixed address (since 17 years) does not have anything, he devoted his life to art. He was encouraged by the gallery owner Leo Castelli American and supported by the art critic Pierre Restany two myths in the history of 20th century art. For his creations Guingand uses all the techniques and existing media The subjects of his works are eternal questions; God, time, truth, humanity, reality, power, death, our fears. His works are incurred, prophetic or cynical.
From 1987 to 97, for his work on the shadows, 200 international celebrities posed for lui.En 1995 he exhibited at the Louvre (Ditch Charles V) and gives 100 works "Shadow" to help the fight against AIDS. He will finish this work by asking twenty contemporary artists like, Jasper Johns, Yayoi Kusama, Miquel Barceló, Pierre Soulages, Brice Marden, Erwin Wurm, Wim Delvoye, Bernar Venet, Pierre Alechinsky, Jan Fabre, François Morellet ..

This 214 page website contains the home page video presentation and a short, but effective introduction ending with a quote from Albert Camus on "The function of the artist". Each of the 202 artists has a dedicated page presenting their; biography, a photograph of the Artist with their flag, their video and a link to their website, blog or other. The site also gives the public the opportunity to follow the progress of the project and to support this work and purpose.
