Reports of Missing Teddy Bears in Auckland

Reports of Missing Teddy Bears in Auckland

There has been a spate of Teddy Bears reported missing in Auckland over the last few days. Owners from throughout the Auckland region are desperate to be re-united with their beloved bears to be able to take them to the ABE’S Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic this Sunday.

The missing bears have all come from loving homes, with one theory being that the bears were on their way to the Western Springs Lakeside for Sunday’s ABE’S Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic and have got lost on the journey.

Amongst the missing bears is Graham – an elderly bear who didn’t return home from his daily walk last Friday, He is getting a bit doddery in his old age, Rupert – who is wanted for years of excessive loyalty and Margarie – who seems to have run away despite receiving constant attention over the years.

The owners of the missing bears are asking the public to please keep an eye out for them, and have established a meeting point at ABE’S Bagels Teddy Bears Picnic on Sunday, where they hope to be back with their bears.

Melanie Kyle from ABE’S Bagel Bakery says that – “we have established a tent at the event on Sunday as a meeting point, in the hope that missing bears can be reunited with their owners. We also have rewards on offer for those who find and return the bears safely.”

Once the bears are re-united with their owners at the iconic event on Sunday, they will enjoy a day of free entertainment and activity at the Western Springs Lakeside from 10am – 3pm on Sunday.

Other free entertainment on offer includes free bouncy castles, face painting from the brilliant Body FX team, and the Old McDonalds Farm with a host of farm animals. The ever popular Fairy Grotto is back with ‘The Fairy Shop’ presenting fairies and pixies in an interactive show amongst the trees.

Several strolling performers such as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan & Tinkerbelle will roam the Western Springs Lakeside, interacting with picnic patrons.

This event is free to the public with the support of ABES Bagels, McDonalds, Tip Top & The Hits.

So – please keep an eye out for the 180 bears which have been missing across Auckland in recent days and return them to their owners ABE’S Bagel’s Teddy Bears Picnic this Sunday from 10am – 3pm.
