NZ aid organisation seeks intern star
New
Zealand’s Orphans Aid International is seeking an intern
with the X factor to help the organisation over a five month
period, beginning April 2015 in Queenstown.
The successful applicant will become the first recipient of the Orphans Aid International Young Humanitarian award and assist the organisation to establish a programme that will provide an opportunity for outstanding youths who have a social conscience.
Orphans Aid International’s CEO Sue van Schreven says this is the first time the aid organisation has offered such an opportunity, which has been designed to suit a young person aged between 18-26 years of age.
“This volunteer role would be ideal for a graduate with a marketing or design degree, or someone who has training or experience in a related field. The successful candidate will gain valuable work experience, whilst helping the orphan cause. This has to be better than a gap year!”
The internship will be 20 hours a week to allow for part-time work to be undertaken outside of Orphans Aid International to cover living costs.
“This varied and challenging role will include fundraising, events and an ability to hit the ground running with our social media campaigns,” says Mrs van Schreven.
A short-term opportunity to visit one of Orphans Aid International’s overseas project at the end of the internship will be provided, along with an opportunity to raise the money to cover costs for the trip during the internship.
“Our hope is that the internship will facilitate a unique alumni of award winners with a heart to help the poor, as well as an ongoing great relationship with Orphans Aid International.”
A full job description can be found at www.orphansaidinternational.org. Interested applicants are invited to email a covering letter explaining why they should be the first recipient of the Young Humanitarian award along with their CV to admin@orphansaidinternational.org.
Applications close 6 March 2015.
