World of Wearable Arts Winner to Judge Edible!
It is with great excitement that we can announce our first judge for the 2015 Hastings PAK ‘nSAVE Edible Fashion Awards which will be taking place on the 13 June 2015 at the Hawke’s Bay A&P Kate Mackenzie, Supreme Award winner at the prestigious 2014 World of Wearable Arts has taken on the head judge role at this years’ Hastings Pak’nSave Edible Fashion Awards.
Her expertise within the industry is second to none and will bring a hugely important dimension to the judging Event Manager, Joanna Smith says; “This is a real coup for us! As the event becomes more and more professional, we wanted to ensure that our judging format backs it up! To have Kate on board this year is an absolute honour and she has already given us some fabulous guidance in terms of our judging criteria and how we can step it up this year. Kate understands the event, the time involved in creating designs and the degree of difficulty in creating a masterpiece using edible items. It is a match made in heaven to have secured our creative Hastings icon!”
Kate Mackenzie will be heading a panel of three judges, all of whom will be from the fashion/arts industry. Joanna Smith says; “We are currently working with two other potential judges to join Kate and it is hugely exciting! We hope to have them confirmed in the next couple of weeks.”
The awards have attracted entries from primary and secondary schools as well as businesses throughout the Hawke’s Bay region and are now firmly embedded within the local event calendar - it is fast becoming an iconic Hastings event.
