The Transitional Cathedral, candlelight and the sweet sounds of Fauré will offer an irresistible pre-Easter treat for classical music lovers.
This Christchurch City Choir’s first 2015 season performance on Saturday 28 March will delight audiences with the distinctive style of French composer, Gabriel Fauré , featuring solos from acclaimed soloists, soprano Susan Densem and baritone William Frost, along with organ solo, Sicilienne from Pelléas et Mélisande (Arr. Martin Setchell) by Martin Setchell.
Set to candlelight in the spiritual heart of our city, the Transitional Cathedral, the culmination of the evening will be the City Choir's presentation of Faure’s Requiem in D minor Op 48, one of the most beloved choral masterpieces of all time.
