STEVE WRIGLEY VS.
AMERICA
Having moved to The America with his young family, Steve Wrigley is returning for a brief sojourn especially for the Comedy Festival. With just a short run in Wellington before a season in Auckland, this will be Steve’s first New Zealand solo show in two years, and boy is it a flippin’ blinder.
Steve has already performed this show a number of times in New York City, having lived in upstate New York for over a year now. In that time he has seen and observed all the weird and wonderful things that those crazy American’s get up to and he has put the well-known Wrigley spin on them all.
Steve Wrigley vs. America is a multi-media extravaganza as Steve takes us on his journey of pitting little old New Zealand against his adopted home, big old America. Who or what will win? Who will judge? Is it even a competition? One thing we do know is that it will be a hilarious show full of his boundless energy, passion for his craft, and some of the best story telling at the festival.
“Steve Wrigley’s a busy, talented fella and I would suspect overseas is calling right about now…” – theatreview.org.nz
Steve has been
performing comedy since for ages, starting at school and
continuing on to become one of New Zealand’s best, how
great that we get to see him on these shores again. He won
the 2008 Billy T Award and has appeared all over the TV,
from 7Days,AotearoHAs, the
Comedy Gala, Would I Lie To
You, Jono & Ben at Ten, After Hours with
Steve Wrigley, Funny Roots, and of course teaming
up with comedy buddy Ben Hurley for their own series
Ben & Steve World Famous In…
His
infectious vigor has entertained audiences all over New
Zealand and, indeed all over the world. This is high-speed
comedy delivered with the gusto of a comic who loves his
craft and the pleasure it brings to audiences and himself
alike.
