Controversial cricketer, Jesse Ryder, is a raging favourite to knock over Cameron Slater in their SUPER 8 Charity fight at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch on Saturday.

The former Black Cap, who was once again in trouble with cricketing authorities over the weekend, is paying just $1.10, while Slater is a rank outsider, for an upset win, at $6.00.

Slater who has dropped 17 kilo’s for the bout, is less than impressed with the betting agency’s assessment and fancies his chances of proving the odds makers wrong.

“While Jesse’s been playing cricket I’ve been in the gym six days a week training and sparring with professional boxer’s.

“I may not be the most athletic guy but boxing is a sport you need to work hard on, there is a saying ‘train hard, fight easy’, well I’ve trained hard and Jesse won’t have it easy.”

In the other Charity bout Monty Betham is $1.15 to silence twitter trolling former UK Cricketer Adam Hollioake, who is paying $5.00 for the win.

In the main event for the WBA Pan African, WBO Oriental and OPBF Cruiserweight crowns, a tight bout is expected with Kiwi Samoan Vaitele Soi paying $1.65 to title holder Anthony McCracken’s $2.15.

As expected American former World Cruiserweight title challenger, Brian Minto is a red-hot favourite to take out Last Man Standing tournament, paying $1.50 to vanquish three opponents in one evening.

Kick boxer Israel Adesanya, is a surprise second favourite, paying $3.00 and rated over far more experienced opponents despite holding only a one fight losing record in boxing.
