Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Julian Ford artist in residence
Queenstown-artist Julian Ford is sitting in residence at Wanaka's Warbirds & Wheels attraction from today (April 13th 2015) as part of a fundraising initiative for the Upper Clutha Children's Medical Trust.
Julian will be in residence for one week only to draw and paint a one-off piece of GEN11, aka Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The car is kindly on loan from Sir Peter Jackson for one month only to raise funds for the Upper Clutha Children's Medical Trust.
Get up-close with a working artist, ask him questions and watch him as he expertly-crafts this unique work of art. The final artwork will be auctioned on TradeMe in May, with all proceeds going to the trust.
"It's just great to be here and start this piece," said Mr Ford.
"I am so privileged and honoured to be asked to paint such a famous and stunning car. I was anxious to get started, so now there is finally paint on canvas, it's great."
"I am here all week and happy to
answer questions and chat to people, and am just so excited
for the "lightbulb" moment in the process when i can see the
finished result," Mr Ford said.
