Wellington Band MERRIN release single Angerfist from new EP
Wellington Band MERRIN have released their first single Angerfist from the sophomore EP Colour Five
Dubbed “The band that was never meant to be” Merrin are proud to release their first single from their new EP Colour Five, due to be released in Spring 2015, following on from their debut EP Don’t Forget To Breathe.
Angerfist stems from experiences of Family violence and the side effects that remain as a result.
Not knowing where to turn to for support, can lead to being vulnerable to further challenges, emotionally, physically and mentally.
“It’s one of those songs that send emotive chills through those who hear it.” says lyricist Charlie Phillips. “Something can easily be done yet many times we turn a blind eye as a society.
It’s difficult to find the confidence to help others in need, in fear of being hurt ourselves, even though it’s not acceptable these days. These are experiences I am familiar with and have seen too many times in life.”
It's not OK is a community-driven behaviour change campaign to reduce family violence in New Zealand. Its goal is to change attitudes and behaviour that tolerate any kind of family violence.
The Team at Merrin give our heartfelt thanks to the work that areyouok.org are doing for our communities and encourage others to support where they can Angerfist is available to view on YouTube: http://bit.ly/AngerfistVideo
