Hawkins issued with reprimand for comments
The Trans Tasman Netball League (TTNL), operators of the ANZ Championship, wishes to advise that Mainland Tactix head coach Sue Hawkins has been issued a reprimand following a review of her comments by an independent Disciplinary Officer.
Hawkins pleaded guilty to breaching the ANZ
Championship’s Code of Conduct after
comments made on
air during the third quarter of the Round 12 match between
Mainland Tactix and NSW Swifts.
Following the hearing, which included a review of the video evidence, it was the view of the Disciplinary Officer that Hawkins violated Rule 10.3.2 (d).
Rule 10.3.2 (d): The Code of Conduct requires that each Player, Team Official and Match Official must accept and observe, and must not show dissent from, attack, disparage or criticise, the authority and decisions of Match Officials, Team Officials, TTNL, Governing Bodies, Disciplinary Officer and Appeal Committees.
Hawkins’ unreserved apology and no applicable prior record was taken into account when issued with the reprimand.
