Photo Laundry Returns For Auckland Festival of Photography

Photo Laundry Returns For Auckland Festival of Photography

A world renowned photography event returns to Auckland in June as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography.

The Photo Laundry (or Sooshka) project began in 2010 by Andrei Kezzin in St Petersberg, Russia. More than 90,000 people from 40 cities across 7 countries have participated in the project in the last five years. The event will be held at the The Bridge Gallery Studio from the 13th until 14th June.

The concept of the event is simple; photographers of all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to showcase their work on washing lines at The Bridge Gallery Studio. In return for sharing a piece, participants can take away with them an image that takes their fancy.

"Over 100 photographers will showcase their work, we encourage members of the public to come on down and be part of this world renowned event"

said event producer, Mariya Sadykova.

Over 1000 people attended Auckland Photo Laundry in January at Silo Park in central Auckland.
