Winners Announced in 2015 Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards

Winners Announced in 2015 Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards

The announcement of the winners in the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards, now in its eight year, was again eagerly anticipated. This year attracted a record number of overall votes as the regions hospitality workers first nominated and then voted for the people they think are the most outstanding in thirteen categories.

Organisers Food Hawke’s Bay, a membership organisation for food and hospitality businesses in the region, are delighted with the response to the event this year. Event organiser Adele Fitzgerald says “the hospo industry are behind the awards in a big way and have taken the opportunity to acknowledge the people who are doing a great job for the industry and it means the general public get to hear of particular places to eat, drink or socialise.”

Fitzgerald says “So much goes into delivering a great experience for diners and there is always a huge team effort behind the scenes to make it happen, so gaining peer recognition is a great reward for all their hard work.”

The winners were announced in front of a sell-out crowd of hospitality industry staff and guests that included the Napier and Hastings mayors and local MP’s.

A special presentation was made to a hospitality stalwart who has just surpassed 30 years in the hospitality industry. Pip Harrison, manager of Liquor King Napier, is highly regarded by all in the trade and was congratulated on achieving such a significant milestone.
