Largest ever HealthPost ‘charity of the month’ total

Largest ever HealthPost ‘charity of the month’ total donated to Red Cross’ Nepal relief efforts

New Zealand’s largest online natural health and skincare shop HealthPost has donated nearly $20,000 to the Red Cross’ relief efforts in Nepal. The money was raised while the Red Cross was HealthPost’s charity of the month in May.

As part of its ‘Better World’ programme, HealthPost donates $2 for every customer who ticks the Charity of the Month box at its online checkout. The Red Cross is just one of the many charities that has benefited from the Charity of the Month programme.

“We believe that the health of the individual is always connected to the health of the broader community and the natural environment,” says HealthPost’s Chairman Peter Butler.

“What is different about our charity fundraising is that the donation is paid directly from HealthPost’s cashflow and doesn’t cost our customers anything. Our customers merely choose which charities they would like HealthPost to donate to at checkout.

HealthPost also donated to the Red Cross’s Cyclone Pam Appeal for Vanuatu. In total HealthPost has donated more than $100,000 to the Red Cross.

“Of course we couldn’t do what we do without our fantastic customers – both online and in our West Auckland shop.”

HealthPost recently opened its’ first retail store in Veronica St, adjacent to Lynn Mall in Auckland’s New Lynn.

Later this year Peter expects that HealthPost will reach a very significant giving milestone when it surpasses a total of $500,000 donated to charities since 2009.

“Our charity programme is just part of what we do under our ‘Better World’ initiative. We also generate a large part of our electricity with 72 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of our warehouse in Collingwood, Golden Bay. We cancel our carbon footprint and have an annual staff tree planting day.
