Henry Hargreaves Exhibition Launch
Henry Hargreaves Exhibition Launch; Thursday, 25th June @ 6pm. Qb Studios Addington
A fascinating and thought-provoking collection comes to the Qb Studios exhibition space on Thursday the 25th of June with the opening of the Henry Hargreaves photography exhibition No Seconds. New Zealand raised and with a degree from Canterbury University, Hargreaves is now Brooklyn-based, and has worked with the likes of Ralph Lauren, GQ, NY Magazine and Marie Claire.
Taking food photography to artistic levels by using food as a relatable visual medium through which to explore the themes of his work, he has won both plaudits and awards, and No Seconds again uses the medium of food as a window to a societal examination, as Hargreaves recreates the last meal requests of Texas prisoners condemned to die under the death penalty. The results are a strangely affecting, often curious and provocative series that provides an insight into the humanity and personalities involved in an intrinsically inhumane process.
The exhibition opens at 6pm on Thursday the 25th of June at Qb Studios, 18 Bernard Street, Addington, with regular gallery hours 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
