State of Te Reo Māori Address – Professor Timoti Karetu
Māori Language week 2015 will see the inaugural State of Te Reo Māori address given by Professor Timoti Karetu, at Te Papa.
Karetu, considered one of the foremost experts on the revitalisation and regeneration of te reo Māori, will deliver his address to mark the 40 Year Commemoration of Māori Language Week.
Known for his critical analysis of te reo Māori, the address aims to inspire debate and thinking about Māori language.
Co-hosted by Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori
and Te Papa, this event will be delivered entirely in te reo
Māori and via webcast on Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori and
Te Papa websites.
