“It will also be the first show performed at the Theatre since the Hamilton City Council gifted the theatre to Clarence Street Theatre Trust.”

Rebecca Wright, as Eva Person will be supported by well-known Hamilton actors Nick Wilkinson as Che Guevara, Benjamin John Moody as Juan Peron, Hannah Keeley Doherty as Peron’s Mistress and Bruce Rawson as Agustin Magaldi.

Balme describes the Evita as the “phenomenal musical” written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice.
“Set in Buenos Aires between 1934 and 1952, Evita charts the rags-to-riches rise of Argentine political leader Eva Peron, the second wife of President Juan Peron.

“Eva’s journey is one of being a fatherless child, to then an ambitious actress, and later one of the most powerful women in Latin America.

Events from Eva Peron's life are presented in song with some of Lloyd Webber's most famous hits including, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Another Suitcase In Another Hall and Buenos Aires.

“Our stunning cast, full orchestra and unique Musical Theatre New Zealand Consortium set are geared to make this a truly memorable show. We are confident that families, big and small, won’t be disappointed.”

Tickets for Evita are on sale now through Ticketek.
